During his service in the Confederate Army, John Hudson wrote many letters to his wife which were saved by his family. Most of these letters are currently owned by his descendants. Two letters are in the Texas Archives Library in Austin, Texas.
These letters were transcribed by various family members. Most of these transcriptions retain the original spelling and punctuation, which keeps the text close to the original but creates comprehension difficulties for the modern reader. Extra spacing has now been added between sentences to improve the readibility.
If any readers are in possession of other letters by John E. Hudson, please contact me at TramelJenkinsFamilyTree@Gmail.com, so those additional letters can be added to this site.
